This is a full-time year-round position.

HOUSING ENERGY AUDITOR

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Housing Energy Auditor for its Weatherization Program in Bemidji, MN.
The Housing Energy Auditor assists in the delivery of all BI-CAP’s weatherization program and conducts home inspections in residential homes, entering attics, basements, crawl spaces, and living spaces.  Physical aspects of the job include moderate work involving crawling, lifting, carrying, climbing and kneeling. Successful candidate will need the ability to work in tight spaces and on ladders, as well as in adverse weather.
The position will manage contractors to install energy upgrades and will coordinate bids and repairs. Candidate will write highly-detailed job specifications and project budget estimates.
This position will help educate and empower low-income clients on energy usage; act as a referral source for other client-eligible programs; and assist with evaluation and follow-up on client services.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; and a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
Must have at least one year experience in construction, energy audits, home repair, HVAC or building inspections.  Proficient computer skills needed in Word and Excel. BPI certification is a plus.

PRESCHOOL TEACHER AIDE

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Preschool Teacher Aide in Bemidji, MN.

As Teacher Aide you’ll work with the classroom teacher and teacher assistant to develop the learning environment, assisting in the classroom with projects and activities.
Duties include assisting in setting up classroom materials; keeping the classroom clean and safe; reading to children; organizing and supervising play activities and soothing children who are upset.
You will follow the lead of the classroom staff in reinforcing appropriate behaviors using positive guidance. You’ll assist in family-style meals and snacks.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 18 years old. Preferred experience working with children ages birth to 5 years old. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED, and skills in reading, communication, math and problem solving.

OFFICE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking an Office Support Specialist in Walker, MN.
As Office Support Specialist, you’ll help with administrative, clerical and office activities. You’ll interact with the general public by providing information and assistance for BI-CAP’s programs.
This position will start June 21, 2021, and will be full-time.
A strong candidate would have experience with computers, Microsoft Office, recordkeeping and customer service.
Your duties will include:

  • greeting visitors to the office
  • answering telephones, providing needed information
  • interviewing clients to assess needs and re-directing them to internal staff as necessary
  • informing clients of available resources or referring to appropriate agency staff
  • assisting clients with obtaining services from appropriate agencies
  • making appointments for clients to obtain follow up services.

You will handle incoming and outgoing mail by picking up, sorting and distributing mail; preparing and reporting postage; maintaining office supplies and arranging for replenishment; and tracking phone calls and walk-ins using computer software.
Requirements: Minimum job requirements are reading, communication, math and problem solving skills equivalent to High School Diploma or GED and three years of related experience in a job involving office related skills.
