Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking Kitchen Substitutes for its Head Start locations in Bemidji, Blackduck and Backus, MN.
Kitchen Substitutes assist with food preparation and cleaning of dishes and kitchen facility in absence of regular kitchen staff. Will follow general instructions from the Head Cook.
Requirements: Prior experience with food preparation in a commercial setting is preferred, but not required. Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Head Start Curriculum & Assessment Coach for program wide services.
The Primary role of the Curriculum & Assessment Coach is to provide support of classroom staff to further children’s development toward their kindergarten readiness goals. The Curriculum & Assessment Coach will monitor and provide assistance to teachers in the implementation and adaptation of curriculum for the group and individual needs of children in each classroom.
Duties include educational support, practice-based coaching, assisting with supporting family and community partnerships, providing screening and support services to children, management of reports, records and documentation.
Requirements: Four-year degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in a field related to early education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early education.

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Supportive Housing Specialist at BI-CAP Agency office in Bemidji and Walker, MN.
This position is responsible to assist eligible clients with obtaining and maintaining adequate housing by providing supportive services in which needs are identified and services are designated to meet those needs. Manage services related to accessing and obtaining housing. Orient clients to housing programs and referral options, support services, and housing options. Serve as a liaison between landlord, tenant, service providers and the community related to housing needs. Complete and submit required reports. Assist with grant writing and grant proposal submission. Provide individualized supportive housing services for clients. Communicates courteously and professionally and maintains working relationships with others in carrying out job functions. Attends and represents the program and agency in a responsible, professional manner at all meetings. Performs all job duties in compliance with safety guidelines and with an ongoing awareness of safety practices.
Requirements: The position requires an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related Human Service field.  A Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in a human service organization is preferred. A valid driver’s license or other evidence of mobility is required. Familiarity with housing activities, computer knowledge, record keeping and/or client intake. The Accountant completes Fiscal department’s support functions such as providing services and information to Agency programs, funding sources, and auditors. Assists in meeting with Program Managers and other staff regularly regarding budget development, monitoring and administration. Assists in preparing new chart of accounts for grants/contracts as needed. Prepares and processes appropriate fixed assets and deprecation. Assists in overseeing procedures for the proper timing of expenditures, and assists in and/or completes various General Ledger/journal entry processes. Coordinates the gathering of supporting schedules and information for the Auditors. Communicates courteously and professionally and maintains working relationships with others in carrying out job functions.
Requirements: Four-year accounting degree and two or more years of related work experience, or equivalent.

Office Support Specialist performs administrative/clerical/office activities to assist agency management in administering programs and services offered to the community.   Incumbents interact with the general public by providing information and assistance as it relates to the department’s activities/services, and rules/regulations. The position requires knowledge of agency policies, procedures and activities.  At this level, incumbents are expected to be familiar with most agency activities and are able answer questions requiring greater knowledge and requiring more detailed explanations.
