PRESCHOOL TEACHER AIDE

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Preschool Teacher Aide in Walker, MN.
Who you are:
You are a good listener and are able to follow instructions. You are sensitive to the feelings of others, are compassionate and enjoy helping others. You are dependable and trustworthy. You communicate well.
A day in the life:
As Teacher Aide you’ll work with the classroom teacher and teacher assistant to develop the learning environment, assisting in classroom activities.
You’ll help set up classroom materials; keep the classroom clean and safe; read to children; organize and supervise play activities and soothe children who are upset.
You will follow the lead of the classroom staff to reinforce appropriate behaviors using positive guidance. You’ll assist in family-style meals and snacks.
Qualifications:
You should be at least 18 years old. It’s preferred if you have experience working with children ages birth to 5 years old. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED, and skills in reading, communication, math and problem solving.

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Head Start Professional Development Coach in Bemidji, MN.

A day in the life:
You will provide support and assistance for staff in their work practices to promote the mission of Head Start in getting children ready for Kindergarten.
You will support education and family service staff using practice-based coaching structures including observations, action planning and reflective feedback to help staff reach their professional goals.
Qualifications:
You will need a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in a field related to early education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early education.

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Head Start Family Support Advocate in Backus, MN.
Who you are:

A day in the life:
You will serve Cass County families in Walker and Pine River/Backus. You will coordinate and provide direct support services to Head Start families through home visits, family needs assessment, family goals, resource and referrals, establishing and maintaining community partnerships, and doing recruitment/enrollment.
Qualifications:
Within 18 months of hire, you will need to have, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. Two years’ worth of related experience preferred.

Who you are:

A day in the life:
You will help teach preschoolers in a classroom setting and building positive relationships with children and families.
You’ll have input in developing the learning environment and assisting in the classroom with activities. You will work collaboratively with other classroom staff in our Backus Head Start Center.
Qualifications:
If you have a high school diploma or GED, you’ll need to earn your CDA credential or state-awarded certificate during your first two years with us. We’ll pay for it and help you do it.
If you have one of these certifications, an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, you’re already qualified.

• Serve as a liaison between landlord, tenant, service providers and the community related to housing needs.

• Attend and represent the program and agency in a responsible, professional manner at all meetings.
Qualifications:
You’ll need an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related Human Service field. A Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in a human service organization is preferred. A valid driver’s license or other evidence of mobility is required.

Familiarity with housing activities, computer knowledge, record keeping and/or client intake is preferred.

Kitchen Assistant

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for its Head Start Center in Bemidji, MN.
Who you are:

You have basic kitchen skills and a commitment to sanitation and safety. You can do physical tasks like standing, carrying trays and cleaning work areas. You enjoy working with others.
A day in the life:
You will assist with cleaning of dishes and the kitchen facility; and delivery and retrieval of food under supervision of the Head Cook and Assistant Cook.
Qualifications:
Minimum job requirements include the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen setting is preferred, but not required.

Supportive Housing Specialist

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Supportive Housing Specialist in Walker, MN.
The Supportive Housing Specialist is responsible to assist eligible clients with obtaining and maintaining adequate housing by providing supportive services in which needs are identified and services are designated to meet those needs. This position will do the following:
