Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Housing Energy Auditor for its Weatherization Program in Bemidji, MN.
The Housing Energy Auditor assists in the delivery of all BI-CAP’s weatherization program and conducts home inspections in residential homes, entering attics, basements, crawl spaces, and living spaces.  Physical aspects of the job include moderate work involving crawling, lifting, carrying, climbing and kneeling. Successful candidate will need the ability to work in tight spaces and on ladders, as well as in adverse weather.
The position will manage contractors to install energy upgrades and will coordinate bids and repairs. Candidate will write highly-detailed job specifications and project budget estimates.
This position will help educate and empower low-income clients on energy usage; act as a referral source for other client-eligible programs; and assist with evaluation and follow-up on client services.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; and a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
Must have at least one year experience in construction, energy audits, home repair, HVAC or building inspections.  Proficient computer skills needed in Word and Excel. BPI certification is a plus.

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Teacher for its Head Start classroom in Kelliher, MN.
The teacher is responsible for the effective operation of the Head Start classroom including delivery of education services and classroom safety.
The teacher would work collaboratively with the Kelliher School District in the preschool classroom at Kelliher Elementary starting in August 2021.
In collaboration with school district teaching staff, duties include developing the classroom environment; planning and implementing daily activities and ongoing assessments; observing and recording child development and behaviors; participating in specialized education plans for children; and delegating tasks and modeling teaching techniques for assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom.
The teacher will work jointly with a BI-CAP Family Advocate to build positive relationships with families identifying children’s strengths and working together to set child goals.
Requirements: Teacher is required to hold a minimum of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education. Early Childhood teaching experience preferred.­­ Please submit proof of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Teacher Aide for its Head Start location in Bemidji, MN.
The Teacher Aide is responsible for supporting the Teacher in the effective operation of the Head Start classroom to promote and enhance School Readiness.
Duties include assisting in setting up classroom materials, projects and activities; keeping the classroom clean and safe; reading to children; organizing and supervising play activities and soothing children who are upset.
The Teacher Aide will follow the lead of the Teacher and/or Teacher Assistant in reinforcing appropriate behaviors using positive guidance. Responsibilities include assisting in classroom cleanup and family-style meals and snacks.
Requirements: Incumbent must be at least 18 years old. Preferred experience working with children ages birth to 5 years old. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED, and skills in reading, communication, math and problem solving.

Head Start Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the Head Start classroom to promote and enhance the School Readiness of children and families in compliance with Head Start and MN Rule 3 regulations.
Duties include providing input in creating, developing and implementing the learning environment, schedule and curriculum; assisting with setting up materials, projects and activities in the classroom; reading to children; organizing and supervising play activities; assisting in providing information to parents/guardians regarding child growth and development; informs families of resources and makes referrals, as needed.
Requirements: Teacher Assistant requires a High School Diploma or GED and candidate currently holds or, within two years of hire, attains a CDA credential, or equivalent, or an Early Childhood associate or baccalaureate degree. BI-CAP will provide training for the CDA credential, at no charge. Preferred experience of working with children birth to five years old. Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
