You communicate well, and are able to assess assessment tools and data. You can select or create individualized professional development training to meet staff needs. A day in the life:
You will provide support and assistance for staff in their work practices to promote the mission of Head Start in getting children ready for Kindergarten.
You will support education and family service staff using practice-based coaching structures including observations, action planning and reflective feedback to help staff reach their professional goals.
Qualifications:
You will need a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in a field related to early education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early education.

TODDLER TEACHER
Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Toddler Teacher in Bemidji, MN.
Who you are:

- You respond with patience and are able to work with toddlers with different abilities.
- You’re creative, you can plan lessons that engage young children, and you can adapt lessons for different learning styles.
- You’re organized with lesson plans and records. You have strong computer skills.
A day in the life:
- As a teacher you’ll help develop the classroom environment; you’ll plan and implement daily activities and assessments; you’ll observe and record child development and behaviors; and you’ll work side-by-side with a co-teacher, an aide and volunteers in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- You’ll need a minimum of a Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA); or a 2 or 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in a related field, with early childhood teaching experience.

CLASSROOM COORDINATOR
Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Classroom Coordinator in Bemidji, MN.
Who you are:
- You’re an excellent communicator; you can explain changes in curriculum and teaching standards to staff.
- You have great interpersonal skills, and are able to develop relationships with parents, children and coworkers.
- You have strong supervisory skills; you can serve as a mentor and help to train others.
- You have effective time management skills and are able to prioritize and handle numerous tasks.
- You have great analytical skills: you can evaluate data and teaching strategies and recommend improvements in teaching and curriculum.
A day in the life:
- You’ll directly supervise classroom staff, including coaching, observation and feedback
- You’ll coordinate support services for children and families to help their development towards school readiness
- You’ll build relationships with families, and help encourage them to be involved in the Head Start Program
- You’ll monitor classrooms and delivery of educational services, making sure performance standards and licensing regulations are met
- You’ll coordinate team meetings with classroom staff, Family Advocate and other support staff
- You’ll maintain reports, records and documentation
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education; or a bachelor’s or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with early education teaching experience. Two years’ prior classroom and/or supervisory experience is preferred.

Classroom Coordinator Job Description
PRESCHOOL TEACHER AIDE
Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. (BI-CAP) is seeking a Preschool Teacher Aide in Walker, MN.
Who you are:
You are a good listener and are able to follow instructions. You are sensitive to the feelings of others, are compassionate and enjoy helping others. You are dependable and trustworthy. You communicate well.
A day in the life:
As Teacher Aide you’ll work with the classroom teacher and teacher assistant to develop the learning environment, assisting in classroom activities.
You’ll help set up classroom materials; keep the classroom clean and safe; read to children; organize and supervise play activities and soothe children who are upset.
You will follow the lead of the classroom staff to reinforce appropriate behaviors using positive guidance. You’ll assist in family-style meals and snacks.
Qualifications:
You should be at least 18 years old. It’s preferred if you have experience working with children ages birth to 5 years old. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED, and skills in reading, communication, math and problem solving.
